REDMOND – Microsoft Corp. is giving its Web browser software its first major upgrade in years, amid signs that Internet Explorer’s market share is eroding. The release late Wednesday brings Microsoft’s browser more in line with competing products such as Opera Software ASA’s Opera and Mozilla Corp.’s Firefox. Internet Explorer 7, or IE7, adds features such as tabbed browsing, which lets people open several Web pages without cluttering their desktop with multiple open browser windows.
Microsoft has been heavily testing the new browser, releasing five beta versions over 14 months, and has periodically offered security updates for IE6, first released in 2001.
Still, a lag of more than five years between official releases has cost the company. Web analysis company WebSideStory estimates that Internet Explorer’s U.S. market share is about 86 percent, while Firefox commands about 11 percent of the market and smaller offerings account for the rest. Two years ago, IE had about a 93 percent share.
Man, New York is no Joke!!
NEW YORK (CNN) — The rapper known as Fabolous, whose legal name is John Jackson, was arraigned Wednesday on multiple weapons charges, according to the Manhattan district attorney’s office.
The 28-year-old hit maker was shot in the thigh as he left hip-hop impresario Sean “P. Diddy” Combs’ restaurant Justin’s at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The rapper’s entourage, Kevin Bass, 18; Percell German, 23; and Rascharm Davis, 29 — all of Brooklyn, New York — apparently helped the injured Jackson into a 2005 Dodge Magnum.
Police said the car ran a red light, and officers who pulled the men over discovered two loaded guns inside. Both weapons were unlicensed, Sgt. Mike Wysokowski told The Associated Press.
Ok… I’m gonna give this another shot. It’s hard to blog and requires tons of discipline.. I am putting this up there because the three things I am most interested in seem to revolve around those three.
I am the webmaster of three different sites.. Windows Vista Update, Nigeria-Planet and PeopleSoft-Planet.
As If I don’t have enough to do…I am blogging as well… oh well… c’est la vie..
